Today we have the excellent šāCommodities and Commodity Derivatives: Modeling and Pricing for Agricultural, Metals and Energyā by Helyette Geman. The author is well-known academicianš©š»āš« in her field but she doesnāt feel forced to use a obnoxious vocabulary! Her book doesnāt fall into the complexity hole which make it impossible to understand for non-specialist. Itās the complete opposite, some explanations there are the best Iāve found on complex subjects.
.
Here you will learn everything about options, Greek, Asian, Balck-Scholes, etcā¦ šThis is one of the core book on theoretical frameworks of derivatives pricing. ššOf course, you will need a solid math background to fully grasp different subjects.
.
About thatā¦! Honestly, on my side, i use only 5% of what the book explains on a daily basis. I also know commodity traders way more involve in derivatives than I, who apply about 15%. Iām stressing this out to show that you donāt need to be HYPER š§ educated to be a great trader. But itās important to understand the principals in order to have a view šof what is going on.
.
Great book š¾
