Today we have the excellent 📚“Commodities and Commodity Derivatives: Modeling and Pricing for Agricultural, Metals and Energy” by Helyette Geman. The author is well-known academician👩🏻🏫 in her field but she doesn’t feel forced to use a obnoxious vocabulary! Her book doesn’t fall into the complexity hole which make it impossible to understand for non-specialist. It’s the complete opposite, some explanations there are the best I’ve found on complex subjects.

Here you will learn everything about options, Greek, Asian, Balck-Scholes, etc… 📊This is one of the core book on theoretical frameworks of derivatives pricing. 📉📈Of course, you will need a solid math background to fully grasp different subjects.

About that…! Honestly, on my side, i use only 5% of what the book explains on a daily basis. I also know commodity traders way more involve in derivatives than I, who apply about 15%. I’m stressing this out to show that you don’t need to be HYPER 🧠educated to be a great trader. But it’s important to understand the principals in order to have a view 👀of what is going on.
